About Jamun Fruit:

Scientifically Jamun is known as Syzygium Cumini and it is from the Myrtaceae family. Many times, Jamun is misunderstood with blackberry but in reality, both these are not even related slightly. You might think that then, what Jamun is called in English? Jamun is known as Black Plum and it is also known as Malabar Plum, Java Plum or Jambolana. The Jamun tree is an evergreen tree that is used for its fruit, woods/timber and ornamental value. The unripe fruit of Jamun appears green in colour and it changes colours from green to pink then pink to crimson red and at last when a ripen Jamun is of Black colour. The Jamun fruit is sweet and sour in taste and makes the tongue purple while eating it.
