What is the REET Exam in Rajasthan?

The REET exam, or Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teachers which is previously known as Rajasthan Teacher Eligibility Test (RTET), is an important examination for people who want to become government teachers in Rajasthan. REET exam is conducted by the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (BSER). Its main purpose is to make sure that individuals who want to teach in government schools in Rajasthan are well-qualified and capable.

What is age limit for REET 2024 Exam?

Here is the category-wise age limit for the upcoming REET Exam 2024 –

• For General Category Students – 40 Years
• For ST/SC/OBC Category Students – 40 Years + 10 Years of Relaxation
• Female EWS Category Students – 40 Years + 10 Years of Relaxation
• Male EWS Category Students – 40 Years + 5 Years of Relaxation

REET 2024 Exam Application Fee:

Students taking the REET exam for the first time have to pay the following exam application fee –

• Exam Fee for Paper I / Paper II – 550 INR
• Exam Fee for Paper I + Paper II – 750 INR
• REET Exam Fee for the Students who have appeared in previous REET exam – Nil
• For both levels: Rs 200 (for old candidates)

What is the Minimum Passing Marks for REET 2024?

REET 2024 Exam Syllabus and REET 2024 Exam Pattern:

Exam Pattern for Level 1 (class 1 to 5)

• The exam will have a total of 150 marks.
• The exam will contain 150 multiple-choice questions.
• The exam will last 2:30 hours.
• For incorrect responses, a negative marking scheme (1/3rd of the given marks) will be implemented.
• The minimum qualifying scores for the exam are 60% (with relaxation for reserved categories).

Exam Pattern for Level II (class 6 to 8):

• The exam will have a total of 150 marks.
• The exam will contain 150 multiple-choice questions.
• The exam will last 2:30 hours.

• Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)
• Or
• Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition, Norms and Procedure) Regulation, 2002.
• Or
• Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
• Or
• Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
• Or
• Graduation and two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) passed.

What is the salary for a third-grade teacher in Rajasthan after passing the REET exam in 2024?

Candidate selected on the basis of the REET exam can expect an initial salary of Rs. 23,700 (without any allowances) for the first two years of their employment. Once the two-year probation period has ended, the candidates will be paid a salary based on the pay scale associated with the post.
