CORONA VACCINE

STATUS OF CORONA VACCINE IN INDIA: - Vaccine means a mild form of disease that is put into a person or an animal’s blood using a needle (an injection) in order to protect the body against that disease. A vaccine is a biological preparation that provides active acquired immunity to a particular infectious disease. Scientists around- the world are working on the potential treatments and Vaccines for the Naval Coronavirus disease also known as COVID-19. Many Pharmaceutical Companies around the world are working around the clock to create/ make vaccines that could be used as a preventive measure against the Covid-19 disease. COVID-19, which was first detected in December 2019 in Wuhan, China has since sickened nearly 1,86,14,177 people worldwide and more than 6,02,642 people were killed as of August 6, 2020. So the world needs vaccines as soon as possible to stop this pandemic and saves the precious life of mankind. To fulfill this dream of Corona Vaccine presently 23 Companies are trying to make COVID-19 vaccines.  Out of these 23 Companies 7 Indian firms are also in the race to develop COVID-19 vaccine so where do we stand now:-

1) Covaxin by Bharat Biotech: - The Company has received approval to Conduct Phase I and II clinical trial for its Vaccine candidate Covaxin, which has been developed and manufactured in the company’s facility in Hyderabad.

2) AstraZeneca serum Institute of India: - Leading Vaccine & Major Serum Institute of India has said that it is hoping to develop a COVID-19 Vaccine by the end of the year. The Institute said it will start human's trials in India from August 2020. 

3) Zycov- D, Zydus Cadila: - Pharmacy major Zydus Cadila has said that it is looking to Complete Clinical trials of its COVID-19 vaccine candidate ZYCOV-D in seven months. The company had last week started clinical trials of its COVID-19 vaccine candidate with the first human dose.

4) Panacea Biotech:- Panacea Biotech has set up a joint venture firm in Ireland with US-BASED Refona Inc. to develop a vaccine for COVID-19. The Company is in partnership with Refona aims to manufacture over 500 million doses of COVID-19 Candidate vaccine with over 40 million doses expected to be available for delivery early next year, panacea Biotech had said

5) Indian Immunologicals: - Indian Immunological a Subsidiary of National
Diary Development Board (NDDB) has inked an agreement with Australia's Griffith University to develop a vaccine for Coronavirus.
6) Mynavax: - The Company is working on a vaccine Candidate which it hopes to develop in 18 months. It is currently at pre - clinical trial level.

7) Biological E: - The vaccine Candidate being developed by Biological E is currently at pre-clinical trial Level.

Some other Companies from various countries also working on COVID-19 Vaccine. There are  two major Pharmaceutical Companies  which are developing the vaccine for COVID-19. One of these two is Washington Pitzer from the US and other one is  BINOTECH from the Germany. Some companies are 70% succeeded in trials and other companies are gearing up to start the trials from August months.
