The frequency of K417N in India is not high yet, but the risk of this variant is high in Europe, Asia, and America. This variant was first found in Europe in March this year.

Experts are telling that Delta Plus is resistant to the monoclonal antibody cocktail authorized for Covid-19 in India. Recently, a cocktail of Casirivimab and Imdevimab was given authorization for emergency use by the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization. Roche India and Ciplas, which make this cocktail in India, have fixed the price of these antibody cocktails around 60 thousand for a dose.

Monoclonal antibodies are artificially made in the lab which proves to be effective against this disease. The monoclonal antibodies to Casirivimab and Imdevimab block the virus from entering human cells. This new mutation may be able to evade the human immune response.
