Xiaomi is one hell of a company who always trying something different than others, whether it’s different-different smartphones design & Models or fast charging. Now Xiaomi has announced their latest wireless charging technology i.e. the Mi Air Charge. This technology is going to step up Xiaomi’s game is fast and wireless charging. Sometimes back Xiaomi introduced 80W wireless charging technology, with the help of this technology a 4000 Mah Battery capacity Smartphone can be charged in under 20 Minutes which is a revolutionary technology in the market of Fast Charging. But now Mi Air Charge Xiaomi is trying to achieve a truly wireless charging experience for the customer, using this technology smartphones can be charged over the air.

Xiaomi Mi Air Charge Technology

What This Technology is?

The Xiaomi Air Charge is going to eliminate the need for a wireless charging pad or any type of cables, this tech will remotely charge the devices. This technology works on the concept of Space Positioning and Energy Transmission for the devices to gets their fuel. This technology can charge a single device with 5W of remote charge in the radius of some meters, which is not defined yet. It can charge multiple devices at the same time. All the devices will be charged by 5W remote wireless charge power.

How Mi Air Technology Works?

Xiaomi has built their own isolated charging pile, which has inbuilt five-phase interference antennas, which can detect a smartphone from a distance. This Setup by Xiaomi uses 144 antennas that can transfer millimeter-wide waves via beamforming. Beamforming is a process that helps the concentrates wireless signals on to a particular device and doesn’t let the signals scatter in all directions.

Xiaomi has made the miniature-sized antenna array for smartphones so that these smartphones can receive the signals. The Beacon antenna will help to find the position of the device and 14 receiving antennas will convert millimeter-wide waves from the charging pile into electric energy, in this way smartphone will finally start charging.

Xiaomi has claimed that even physical obstacles won’t reduce the charging efficiency. Xiaomi is working towards making this technology work for smart devices like- smartwatches, smart speakers, wearables, and smart home devices.

Let's see how this technology is commercialized and will be available for us.
