Hiranyakashyap and Prahlada's Story?

Demon King Hiranyakashyap, also known as Hiranyakashipu, regarded Lord Vishnu as his enemy. The son of Hiranyakashyap, however, was a great devotee of Lord Vishnu and always worshipped him. It didn't go well with Hiranyakashyap, and he was not happy that his son was devoted to Lord Vishnu.

Prahalad

Eventually, Hiranyakashyap planned to murder his own son Prahlada by appealing to his sister Holika for assistance. Holika, the sister of Hiranyakashyap, was a demon. Demonesses received a shield from Lord Brahma that protected them from fire. She somehow managed to convince Prahlada to sit with her in front of a huge bonfire with her. Once the fire was lit, Prahlada prayed to Lord Vishnu that he would be protected and kept safe. Prahlada was saved by Lord Vishnu with a gust of wind blowing Holika's shawl and placing it upon Prahlada. As a result, Prahlada was saved, but Holika was burnt to death.

The Significance of Holi 2022:

Historically, Holi has been recognized as an ancient Hindu festival. Other cultures celebrate it as well. Holi represents the triumph of good over evil. The festival spreads love and happiness throughout India.

Holi: What's the Science Behind It?

Moods and emotions are the results of our senses, as perceived by the mind. One's mood is profoundly altered by colors, both on subtle and gross levels. Psychological relief and healing therapy for emotional disorders can be greatly improved by color therapy.

The colors differ in their effects on mood, and Dhulandi Colors played combined white Gulal with scented flowers extract and turmeric to produce a great effect. However, nowadays those colors are replaced by artificial and chemical colors.

The Ayurvedic system also recommends natural colors for the skin, but these have changed significantly since synthetic colors were introduced. As a result, the festival has lost some of its spiritual significance and the aroma of colors that was used to cheer one up.

Generally, Holi is played with four symbolic colors, although a variety of colors are now available in the market. There are colors such as blue, red, yellow, and green that represent love, happiness, and joy respectively.

Holi Puja (Puja Samagri) requires the following items:

  • Flowers
  • Colors- Abeer and Gulal
  • Cow Ghee, cow milk, earthen lamp, cotton wicks, Gangajal
  • Homemade sweets and fruits
  • Bell, incense sticks, and scented water
  • Tulsi leaves and sandalwood paste Chandan

Holi Puja Vidhi for the household:

  • Take a bath in the morning, put on clean clothes, and visit your home temple.
  • All the puja items should be placed on the place of worship and gulal should be applied to the lotus feet of Radha Krishna.
  • To the gods and goddesses, apply sandalwood paste and offer incense sticks, an earthen lamp, as well as tulsi.
  • Offering sweets is next, followed by Gangajal.
  • As you offer the items to the god, join your hands and go around in a circle.
  • In a puja, everybody is sprinkled with Gangajal, gulal is applied to their faces, and Prasad is offered as a blessing.

How to Play Safe Holi and Take Care of Skin and Hair:

How to Take Care of Your Tips for Skin During Holi:

  • There's nothing better than wearing long-sleeved clothing or trousers on most of your body during Holi, but using mustard oil, coconut oil, olive oil, or vaseline over your whole body the night before and the day after Holi can work wonders in removing the colors easily after Holi.
  • Natural and herbal colors such as turmeric, tea leaves, henna, marigold flowers, etc can be very good choices for playing Holi since they have no harmful effects on your skin.
  • Using chemicals tends to cause the skin to dehydrate, so it's important to replenish the hydration. Drink lots and lots of water to keep your skin healthy.
  • In order to reduce the amount of absorption and the harm of Holi, you should use a toner before heading out to play.
  • Using dry hands rather than water is another tip. After the water has been applied, Gulal spreads even more.
  • It's better to use a facial cleanser instead of soap when removing colors from your skin, use transparent nail polish to care for your nails, and never rub your skin while removing colors from your nails.
  • In the event that any irritation occurs following color usage, it is recommended to apply calamine lotion and a moisturizer.
  • Last but not least is to apply a thick moisturizer and a good waterproof sunscreen.

How to Take Care of Your Hair During Holi:

  • To reduce the damage caused by colors, tie your hair.
  • In any case, the chemical-induced dryness of the scalp is prevented by using coconut oil or rosemary oil to soothe it, and by applying conditioner post-Holi.
  • For preventing dryness and infections in the hair, you should wash it with mild shampoo and add lemon juice if you wish. Over shampooing and attempting to remove all the color in one day can harm the hair. Shampoo the following day if it won't come out.
