About The Book The Centre of Historical Studies at the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) offers Master of Arts in History programme which aims at specializing students in Ancient History, Medieval History or Modern History along with set of common courses designed to survey historiography and historical methods and broad patterns of socio-economic and political formations and structural changes covering the Ancient, Medieval and Modern periods. Admission to MA History programme at the JNU is done on the basis of marks scores in the written entrance examination. The present book for JNU MA History Entrance Examination has been designed for the aspirants preparing for MA History Entrance Examination at JNU. This book has been divided into five sections namely Ancient History, Medieval History, Modern History, World History and Approaches & Themes in History, each sub-divided into number of chapters containing chapterwise previous years’ solved questions. Each chapter in the five sections contains theoretical explanation for the important topics which need to be covered in detail along with ample number of previous years’ solved problems which will help in effective study of the concepts covered in the chapter. The questions asked in previous years’ examinations have been covered chapterwise. Self-assessment tests have been given at the end of each chapter to help aspirants practice and self-analyse the level of understanding of the concepts covered in that particular chapter. Also three practice sets designed on the lines of previous years’ entrance examination pattern of JNU MA History Entrance Examination have been provided at the end of the book. To help the aspirants get an insight into the type of questions and the level of questions asked in the examinations, last eight years’ (2008-2015) Solved Papers of MA History Entrance Examination have also been provided in the book. As the book contains number of previous years’ solved papers covered chapterwise as well as ample practice material, it for sure will help aspirants score high in the upcoming JNU MA History Entrance Exam 2017.
