In a heist of epic proportions, Rajasthan Royals (RR) overcame Arshdeep Singh's maiden five-wicket haul with Kartik Tyagi's brilliant last over gave Rajasthan Royals (RR) a surprising victory at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Tuesday in Match 32 of the VIVO Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. With Mayank Agarwal making 67 and PBKS captain KL Rahul, Aiden Markram, and Nicholas Pooran making cameos, RR managed to hold on for two runs victory over PBKS. While chasing, Rahul sustained his luck a few times by getting three reprieves and eventually reaching 49. Meanwhile, Agarwal exploded for 67 off 43 balls.

Rahul, who became the second fastest to score 3000 IPL runs, and Agarwal ensured their side got started well by putting up a fifty-run stand in the seventh over. In the subsequent over, Agarwal scored three fours. In the following over, Agarwal, who completed his tenth IPL fifty as well as reaching the 2000-run rate in the IPL, and Rahul hit 25 runs off Chris Morris, establishing a 100-run partnership. In the end, RR dismissed the opening pair within two overs. Rahul Tewatia bowled Agarwal in the 13th over for 49 after Chetan Sakariya removed Rahul for 49. Even when PBKS needed just eight runs from the last two overs to win, RR kept their cool even as Pooran and Markram scored 57 runs together.

Muhammad Rashid bowled a four-run penultimate over, and then Tyagi delivered a bowling masterwork, conceding just one run and taking two wickets - Pooran and Deepak Hooda - to send RR home. After receiving PBKS caps, Ishan Porel, Adil Rashid and Markram made their IPL debuts whereas Evin Lewis made his RR debut. As RR batted, Lewis and Yashasvi Jaiswal brought up the fifty in five overs as they went after the PBKS bowlers. In the final over of the powerplay, Arshdeep, bowling his first over, ended the partnership by dismissing Lewis for 36 while bowling his first over. After being put under pressure earlier, Porel was recalled to the attack in the eighth over, and he gave PBKS their second landmark wicket after KL Rahul claimed a one-handed catch to dismiss Sanju Samson. A partnership was needed after losing two wickets unceremoniously, and Jaiswal and Liam Livingstone provided that by adding 48 runs together in 28 balls to push RR past 110 runs.

Livingstone was ultimately out for 25 in the 12th over when Fabian Allen took a spectacular diving catch near the ropes to break the partnership. A fine catch by Agarwal off Harpreet Brar dismissed Jaiswal (49) next. PBKS bowlers were also targeted by Mahipal Lomror. He smashed 24 runs in an over, grabbing two sixes and two fours from Hooda as the run count jumped past 160 after 16 overs. When Mohammad Shami and Arshdeep joined hands, PBKS pulled things back. While Shami dismissed Riyan Parag in the 17th over, Arshdeep had the better of Lomror, who scored 43 off 17 balls. Rahul Tewatia and Chris Morris were out in Shami's penultimate over before Arshdeep claimed five wickets with Sakariya and Kartik Tyagi out in Arshdeep's 20th over as PBKS dismissed RR for 185.
