On Friday at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium Chennai Super Kings (CSK) beat Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in which Dwayne Bravo delivered a phenomenal performance with the ball in Match number 35 of the VIVO Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. CSK scored two more points as they chased down the target of 157 runs in 18.1 overs with six wickets in hand.

Against RCB, CSK openers Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf du Plessis set the tone for their chase. After six overs, CSK reached 59/0 after the duo scored at every opportunity. RCB captain Virat Kohli ended Gaikwad's opening stand with a stunning diving catch as Yuzvendra Chahal dismissed him in the ninth over. RCB's second wicket came as a result of Glenn Maxwell bowling and Navdeep Saini completing the catch. After which Moeen Ali and Ambati Rayudu put up a quickfire 47-run stand to push CSK over 120 runs. They were both dismissed inside the space of 15 runs as Harshal Patel struck at each end of the strategic timeout.

The team was then lifted by Suresh Raina and MS Dhoni, who jointly scored 24 runs. CSK put RCB into the batting earlier, since a sandstorm delayed the match. RCB started off well as Kohli smashed two fours in his first two deliveries. At the end of his first over, Devdutt Padikkal hit his first four.

RCB moved to 55/0 at the end of the powerplay after hitting fours each in the third over and sixes each in the next two. After scoring his sixth 50 in the IPL, Padikkal brought this stand to 100 runs in the 12th over. RCB captain made fifty in the next over. CSK began to gain the upper hand as Bravo broke the opening stand, dismissing Kohli for 53 after Ravindra Jadeja took the catch in the deep. Shardul Thakur's twin strikes in the 17th over sent ABD and Padikkal packing after he scored a breezy 70. AB de Villiers took over at the middle and carved a six in the 16th over. With Bravo taking three wickets, conceding just 24 runs, CSK continued to tighten the screws and limited RCB to 156/6.
