International and National Important Days, Bank Holidays and Festivals in November 2022

In order to ensure you do not forget any of the festivals, events, or their importance to celebrate in the month of November 2022, it is necessary to know all the important dates that fall in that month.

1st November 2022: World Vegan Day - This day marks the 50th anniversary of the UK Vegan Society. World Vegan Day was first observed on November 1, 2021, to raise awareness about veganism and its importance in a world that is heavily reliant on meat and dairy products.
5th November 2022: World Tsunami Awareness Day - Every year on November 5, World Tsunami Awareness Day is observed with the goal of increasing public awareness and assisting in tsunami preparation. Although tsunamis are rare, being prepared in case one occurs can be beneficial because they can be extremely dangerous at times.
6th November 2022: International Day for Preventing the Exploitation of the Environment in War and Armed Conflict - This day is observed on November 6 each year to raise awareness of the importance of not using natural resources for military purposes. Another name for it is the World Day to Protect the Environment in War.
7th November 2022: National Cancer Awareness Day - Every year on November 7th, India observes National Cancer Awareness Day to raise awareness about potentially fatal diseases. Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan declared the day in September 2014. It is the birthday of Nobel laureate Marie Curie, whose research on radioactivity contributed to the discovery of cancer treatment.
12th November 2022: World Pneumonia Day - World Pneumonia Day, observed on November 12th each year, aims to raise public awareness of pneumonia and the available prevention and treatment options. Many countries observe the day, and millions of people participate in the fight against pneumonia each year.
17th November 2022: National Epilepsy Day - Epilepsy, a chronic brain illness, causes recurrent seizures caused by abrupt, excessive electrical discharges in neurons. Every year on November 17, India celebrates National Epilepsy Day to raise awareness of the condition and its treatment.
19th November 2022: International Men's Day - International Men's Day is observed worldwide on November 19th to recognise and celebrate men's accomplishments and contributions to society. The goal is not to compete with Women's Day, but to raise awareness of issues that men face around the world. Toxic masculinity, mental health issues, and rising suicide rates are among them.
21st November 2022: World Television Day - Each year on the November 21, World Television Day is observed to celebrate the day in 1996 when the first World Television Forum was held. Rather than promoting televisions, the emphasis is on the role they play in media and communication.
25th November 2022: International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women - The United Nations designates November 25 as International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women in order to raise public awareness of abuse against women, which includes rape, domestic violence, and other forms. Many countries participate in this event, and new safety regulations to protect women are developed.

Pushkar Camel Fair and Festivals (1st - 9th November 2022): Pushkar Camel Fair is one of the most popular Indian festivals in November, drawing visitors from around the world. Hamir Utsav (First week of November): The Hamir Utsav, one of India's major fairs and festivals held in November, is hosted in the Himachal district of Hamirpur. The festival commemorates the significance of the Hamirpur region.
Ganga Mahotsav (7th November 2022): To honour Ganga, the people of Varanasi celebrate Ganga Mahotsav, one of India's most popular November festivals. Dev Deepawali (7th November 2022): Dev Deepawali is observed on Kartik Purnima by performing Ganesh Vandana and presenting clay lamps, candles, and lights to the idol. Kartik Purnima Festival (7th - 8th November 2022): The Kartik Purnima Festival, held on the full moon day of the Kartik month, is one of the most important religious festivals in November. On this auspicious day, mythological gods and goddesses are said to descend from heaven and reside by the Ganges. People commemorate the occasion with prayers, offerings to God, and a holy bath in the Ganges.
Sonepur Mela, Bihar (7th November 2022): The Sonepur Cattle Fair is held in November on Kartik Poornima. It takes place at the confluence of the Gandak and Ganges rivers. It is also known as the Harihar Kshetra Mela and attracts visitors from all over Asia. It is Asia's largest cattle show. This fair is very important in increasing tourism in the country.
Gurpurb/ Guru Nanak Jayanti (8th November 2022): Gurpurb is a highly revered festival in Sikhism. This festival celebrating the birth of the Sikhs' first guru, Guru Nanak Dev. Guru Nanak Dev's birthday falls in November. The celebration of this festival begins very early in the morning, and Sikh devotees pay homage to Guru Granth Sahib. This festival is observed throughout the country.
Wangala Festival (11 November 2022): Wangala - the festival of 100 Drums. One of the most popular festivals in November in India is Wangala, a harvest festival that marks the beginning of winter in the northeast. In colorful costumes, locals play orchestra and dance to the beats while praying to the Sun God.
Ka Pomblang Nongkrem (2nd or 3rd week of November): This harvest festival of the Meghalaya tribes, also known as Shad Nongkrem, is celebrated with fervour and zeal. It consists of a lavish and grand thanksgiving ceremony in which everyone pays homage and respect to Goddess Ka Blei Synshar in exchange for a bountiful and abundant harvest. Ka Pomblang Nongkrem is also celebrated with vigour, with traditional music and dance forms on display.
Puri Beach Festival (November 2022): Swargadwar Beach in Puri hosts a colourful beach festival in Odisha. Puri Beach Festival is a 5-day event that showcases outstanding Odisha art and craft forms. Cuisine, handicrafts, handlooms, traditions, and heritage are among the other cultural and ethnic elements highlighted. The Puri beach carnival includes beach volleyball tournaments, kabaddi tournaments, and other adventure sports.
Majuli Festival (21st – 24th November 2022): The Majuli Festival is held in Assam along the banks of the river Luit. It is one of India's most colourful festivals in November, with carnivals, seminars, performances, and exhibitions showcasing Assam handicrafts, traditions, folk culture, and cultural heritage.
Lucknow Mahotsav, Uttar Pradesh (November/ December): This festival takes place in November and showcases the never-ending grace and splendours of Awadh, now known as Lucknow. The Lucknow Gharana's style includes hued processions, Kathak dances, and traditional dramas. Many celebrities attend this festival to celebrate Lucknow's unparalleled culture.
