The International Kite Festival:

 
The first international kite festival took place in 1989, and it allowed individuals from all around the world to show off their unique kites. After that every year International Kite festival is celebrated at Ahmedabad. Aside from the delicious food, the International Kite Festival illuminates the skies with a kaleidoscope of colours. Participants from all over the country and beyond will come together to display their beautiful kites and their crafts.

The International Kite Festival, held on the Sabarmati Riverfront in Ahmedabad, attracts 153 international kite flyers from 55 countries, 68 national kite flyers from 12 states, and 865 kite fans from 23 Gujarat cities.

Terraces in Raipur, Khadiya, and Dhal ni Pol are extremely popular. Terrace in these areas is rented from 25,000 to 75,000 per day and are offered to groups of 8-10 people.

Over 2000 terraces in the Old City are being rented on January 14 and 15. Foreign visitors also come to the old city to experience the Makar Sankranti or Uttarayan Festival.
